Though I wear baseball hats in the summer, when fall gets here I go toward the Irish Patch hats and wool Fedora hats. The military trained us to wear "covers" all the time so it seems normal. What hats do you folks wear?

Baseball hat in most of year and a stocking cap when it is cold.

Since I am hair challenged on top, I need the baseball hat to avoid mosquitoes and Sun burn. In the winter, I need to avoid frost bite.

I do no like hats. I will wear one only for utilitarian reasons. I have know people that have to have one on their heads at all times. They do, in fact, often give me a headache. The forgoing is in all due respect.

I have been a beret wearer since the mid 60's
I have been identified as the short guy with a mustache and a beret.

Ball caps only occasionally, Henschel Breezer Hat for yard work or if I'm going to be in the sun for extended periods.

I wear a ball cap if my hair looks worse than said hat. I don't wear one on Sunday and especially not to church. Other than that, I usually don't wear hats because I really don't care what I look like during the week. Besides nobody sees me except Sunday and Saturday, and I don't need something else echoing the voices in my head anymore than they already do.

I wear a beanie in cold weather and a soft brim towelling hat when sunny. It's too windy here for wide brim hats. Elsewhere I used to wear a traditional Australian leather stockman's hat. The old man used to wear his WW2 beret all the time. Cheers

Ball caps most of the time when I wear a hat. When I elk hunted, I often wore a balaclava rolled as knit hat until the weather go nasty, then down as a balaclava.

+1 ...on all counts.

I wear baseball caps in the warmer months. But when it gets colder I start wearing my wool Greek fisherman's hat. That's the type of hat that I think only looks good on one if you have a beard. :D

With the farm I'm outside much of the day, year around.

In the summer I often wear a wide-rimmed fiber hat that "breathes"; the rim minimizes the sun exposure.

347030

When cooler or wet I wear one of several wide-rimmed hats, either a sturdy "cowboy" type hat or a similar but lighter-weight hat I bought in the central highlands in Mexico in an area where every male over the age of 6 wore one of these all day. "Cowboy" hats function as umbrellas to keep rain off the head and face and the hands free while feeding or wrangling animals. Good for whacking yellow jackets too.

When riding horses it's a dorky-looking riding helmet.

In the winter it's a warm knit hat plus ear warmers.

When cutting trees I wear a Stihl hard hat with attached face shield and hearing protection.

When working on the beehives the hat has a veil - I hate getting stung on the face.

347034

When surf fishing it's a cap - a bigger hat blows away.

An Austrian (I think) Jacarm hat. I love that it keeps the weather off the (getting bigger) bald spot! Some of the family don't like it, but I've learned to live with that.

When it gets colder, out comes the furry mountie style hat with the ear flaps. Family's not crazy about that either... Kind of starting to see a trend here!

I always thought, better warm than fashionable...

In summer a wide brim Tilley hat, once it starts getting cold I wear wool watch caps and hoods when working outdoors, a wool felt fedora when visiting or going to town and when frigid a bomber style rabbit fur hat.

A booney hat in the summer when working outside. I hate putting on sunscreen and wearing the hat keeps my head / face / neck from burning. Like this one;

My old man had a crew cut for as long as I remember, but he always wore a silver belly stetson and they mostly looked like this one. The man didn't believe is throwing out anything. When he died I was given a pair of work gloves that three fingers worn out, covered in duct tape.

I'm more or less a "ball cap" kinda guy...I prefer the lower profile types like the ones I have from Duluth Trading, but mostly am sporting a PSU cap right now to help encourage my daughter to accept her offer to attend as a third generation student of the school. :)

I am a Tilley man. I have one that I wear for yard work in Central TX in July. I wash it almost every week during the summer and it has made it 8 years and is still going

I'm one of those guys that wears a hat everywhere I go.... just how I grew up. Kids these days if they wear a hat at all have it slung sideways hipster style or something. Anyway I normally wear a ball cap if I'm in the shop. Doing something outside I wear one of these. http://www.sunbody.com/index.cfm/product/56_3/sam-houston.cfm with a 4 1/2" brim. In the winter I wear one of these. http://crowncap.com/catalog/wool-railroad-hat-3/

I've worn a Tilley hat with a surrounding air vent along the top for the last 9-10 years. The newer wide-band vent would be even better. Expensive, but well made & warranteed.

Mostly base ball type caps except in the hot part of summer then I wear nothing because I sweat so much. When it gets cold, which is not too much I wear a warmer type hunting cap.

I wear a TH4 Hemp Tilley about 10 months out of the year. In the winter, the bald head gets to see the sun. It's Texas, Y'all!

Ball cap when it's warm, knit or fleece stocking hat when cold, fleece ear band for XC skiing, wide brim ventilated hat for canoe/kayak, helmet for whitewater.

Don't usually wear a hat since I left Seattle. But Baseball hat when fishing (No plastic adjustment straps, should be a fitted cap), and one of my fedoras when hiking or needing to dress up. Surf beanie when cold.

I have a hand full of ball caps but my go-to hat is a western style fedora:

I wear a baseball cap or a cap that looks a bit like the Marine cap - which is shaped a bit different from the baseball cap.

I wear a Tilley hat when I wear a hat. Since I have a massive head, I had to special order it, but at least they make hats my size. Most manufacturers don't.

Mostly baseball style hats supporting our various clubs, except this year its too embarrassing to wear a Twins hat (103 losses this year). I put that away til next summer when hope springs anew. Winter in Minny you better have a good knit stocking cap - maybe with a face mask for very cold days.

I wear USA made, Bayside low crown caps in several colors in the summer, a Lee Valley clothing, Irish flat cap in the spring and fall. In the really cold months, I'll wear a Jeep pull over.

Being in Phoenix it`s a booney hat with a long tail when outside in the summer for any extended period. The rest of the year I will wear a ball cap or my Stetson for certain occasions. Otherwise I don`t wear one all that often.
