I have some green wood hat I would like to make some platters from, but am wondering if you can do that, and if so, how. I mean you cut a green bowl and leave the walls a certain thickness depending on the diameter. For a platter that is only 1" thick with a shallow cut, do you just round the blank and let it dry with no form? How thick do you leave the blank? Do you use the DNA method to dry it?

Thanks for any answers.

Ernie

Ernie I have made several platters using the DNA method.

I rough turn it in the shape/style I want but leave it thicker just like a bowl, then soak in DNA wrap just like a bowl let it dry then return it.
