I just bought an older griggio pf330 jointer and am considering putting a byrd head in it. I cannot take the back guard off the motor and belt. It has 6 bolts, after removing them the cover will not come off, might be a tight fit, before I get aggressive with it I thought I would throw this out there?? does anyone know anything about these machines? It has a 5hp 3 Ph motor and looks like an older laguna model.
thanks

have a 500. Belt cover came off easy sure they stick over time. Found a manual for a PF400 and PF500 easily on the web or from Griggio in Italy, times I communicated with them they were excellent in returning emails better than one of their country men competitors.

I have a 310 also, if yours has a tersa head I don't think you will gain much (if any) improvement in cut quality changing to a byrd head

Thanks everyone I found the screws I was missing they were indeed the side cover. I don't have a Tersa head and can get a shelix for about a grand.
