What material do you all use to make a sacrificial fence for the table saw?

Something man made and very flat, like plywood, MDF here or particle board.
Could also use solid wood but that seems a waste.

Plywood and a set of these: LINK (http://www.rockler.com/universal-fence-clamps?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=pla&utm_campaign=PL&sid=V9146&gclid=CjwKEAjw1qHABRDU9qaXs4rtiS0SJADNzJis9m9FuhWB 5IhVAAPqALg1ZJe-Ax10hA82GyUEnrjK6hoCodjw_wcB)

A good piece of mahogany. It has lasted for longer than I can remember. It hasn't had to sacrifice itself yet but the old Woodfast bench saw has a short fence designed for a timber face. Man made stuff didn't last. This is on my 16" breaking down saw that gets a hard work out so I figured use something decent once. The other saws have aluminium fences so get left as they are. Cheers

I too use MDF or similar material. It is cheap, stable and consistent in thickness.

The first piece of scrap I find that is close to the size I need.

You would think after all these years I would have already made one. Thanks for all the replies. I'll make a few out of different materials and see what I like best. i won't need it to often but would like to have one when the time comes.

I've used pretty much all of the above over the years, my current one is made from scrap 5/4 PVC board, just have to make sure it's tight along the length of the fence.

That is my go to as well. Most of the time it gets thrown in the dumpster when I'm done with it.
