Hello all, I just obtained an old Grizzly 10" Table Saw G1022. The saw runs great but the fence is broken. It turns out parts are no longer available for it. Does anyone know where parts might be available or if not what is a good replacement fence system? Thank you!!

The fence is similar to the old Delta contractor saw fences. They were never very good even new. I fought one for years and finally swapped it out. My point is that I would not throw any money at restoring a very mediocre fence but, instead seek out a better option. In the low-dollar arena, I used a Craftsman Align-a-Rip (about $150) on a contractor saw and it is still in use by the guy who bought it from me. This particular model is not available anymore but, similar lightweight aluminum models are out there.

The lightweight Delta (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-Power-Equipment-30-in-T-Square-Fence-and-Rail-System-36-T30T3/205803795?gclid=CPewn6jq4c8CFQsbaQodfdsDww&gclsrc=aw.ds) is not much more and many have found it very acceptable. Another approach is to go with a fence that will stay behind for use on your new saw when you outgrow your contractor format saw. Many of the Beisemeyer clones can be had at around $300 and could be the last fence you ever bought. I usually warn folks not to throw too much money at a contractor saw but, I threw at least $300 in bolt-ons at mine (including the fence) and it lasted for years before I upgraded.

I think that Delta T style fence is about the best deal going. This one seems like a clever idea - it'd cost more than the Delta but might offer more flexibility. I wonder if 80/20 extrusions would be straight enough to use as fences.

I have a fence from Mule that is strong and repeatable but does have one shortcoming which may or may not matter - it can't be lifted off the rail, it has to be slid off the end of the rail. I have a router table wing on my T.S. so occasionally need to remove the T.S. fence. T slots in T.S. fences can be handy on occasion for attaching jigs and such.
