Thankfully they came under protection in 1890. And will hopefully be protected for many more generations to enjoy.

Cool chainsaw, but he could use a little help with his history. If he is right about its age, that tree was close to 400 years old when the Roman Empire began.

Years ago a friend on mine tried to salvage a saw like that. I think his was around 10ft. I remember thinking how awful it would be to be the assistant if the chain broke.
