I have an older Xacta fence on my Jet table saw. The plastic sides (not sure the technical term) are in need of replacement. I called Jet and they don't sell them. I figure i would just replace with some good straight wood but I figured I would post up here and see if there was any standard procedure for replacing these parts.

thanks

You can replace them with just about any material you want to....bare plywood, solid stock or sheet stock with some form of laminate or melamine will all work. You can also source replacement HPDE plastic if you want. If you can keep the thicknesses about the same as the originals, you're time zeroing in the scale will be minimized.

I laminated MDF for my replacement. I like it a lot better than the white plastic that came stock.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll see what sort of material I can get my hands on.

Eric, some Phenolic faced Baltic Birch would be dead flat and low friction. Various places sell it in relatively small part sheet sizes
