Hi everyone, I recently picked up a used Makita 2012 planer and decided to change the cutter head bearings. They were making an awful sound so before I put it to work I decided to swap them out. The installation went pretty smooth but now I have a bigger issue. The feed rollers are turning backwards! I didn't touch the feed rollers when I changed the bearings so I have no idea how this could of happened. They were working just fine when I got it. The cutter head spins in the right direction - away from the side you feed the wood. Can anyone shed some light on this very odd issue? Thank You.

Are you saying that the cutters spin away from the infeed side?

Every tool I've used the cutter feeds into the stock (except when purposely climb cutting with a router or similar)

The cutter should rotate into the feed side as the infeed/outfeed rollers do their work.

Got your cutter head backwards perhaps?
