For those of us who couldn't resist the free shipping temptation, what did you purchase from Lee Valley/Veritas? I was a good boy, or honestly old, and forgot it was that time.

9" 10 grain cabinet makers Auriou rasp, saw files, and the 1/4" router plane blade. I am really excited about the rasp for guitar neck carving.

Traditional chinese scissors. They are interesting looking, all metal, easy to sharpen and cut better than my plastic handled Westcott ones. Plastic on the Westcott just failed for no obvious reason, kind of crumbled here and there and was not readily repairable.

New set of gimlets (old ones were terrible - these actually work) and the upgrade to my small plow plane (not that I needed the free shipping on that one).

Havent read the book yet, or even opened the plastic - too much else going on - - -

Couple items that caught my eye; bird cage awl, and a drawing bow.

I didn't even know about it.

I WOULD have ordered saw files, especially a couple of needle files, and three or four router plane irons.

Well, since hobbiest the woodworking is about making something for yourself better than can be bought, which is fundamentally anti-consumerist, I think the more appropriate question is, "what will you build with what you bought?"

I'll start: I got the 1/8" plow plane blade which was needed for the tea box I have now finished. The lid is a bit thicker than 1/2 so my 1/4" blade wouldn't leave enough thickness. I also got the vise brake that I will use to bend the strap hinges I also bought for a couple boarded chests.

A few small things I never wanted to pay shipping for

A planing stop, those finishing pyramids, a metric ruler, 6" dividers, and some magnets for boxes I am making.

You know they have those offers several times a year, right?

If I purchased something every time they did one of those then my wife would demonstrate how "community property" works in the state of California.

Which is why I personally waited until they offered one to order my random things :)

I cannot answer that question, as my wife knows I hang out here and is not above checking on me... :)

If you mean What did You Purchase During Lee Valley's Credit Toward Free Shipping Because You Live in Alaska Offer? then I ordered the fancy-schmancy 10" sliding bevel, a new apron, the #80-esque cabinet scraper, a few other odds-and-ends, and spiffy magnetic dryer vent connector.

I bought a bunch of Dubuque aluminum bar clamps and the starter bevel-up plane set. I think the plane set might have been a mistake because the small smoother seems redundant with my #3 and I like the #3 better. Maybe I'll appreciate it at some point when the right application comes along. Oh, I also bought some of the little glue bottle nozzle caps which I've already used during a caulking job. They work great but I laugh every time I look at them.
