An early happy labor day to you folks in the USA. To our international friends, the US observes Monday as Labor Day. What plans do you folks have this "end of summer" weekend?

Going to some neighbors for dinner this evening.

Over the weekend, maybe try finding a small town locally where I have never been. I hunted elk and deer near it for a couple years but never did find it. I know it exists because it is mentioned by friends and seen in local newspaper article periodically.

Making a new set of file handles. Saw a great tip in a 40 year old FWW on how to make ferrules out of copper pipe "caps" and another on how to cut round tenons on your bandsaw. Put the two together and it'll be a simple, useful, attractive project for my shop.

Have a good, safe Labor Day folks!

Cleaned the shop today, helped my son put "new, louder, better" speakers in his car, just how loud does a 16 year old need his music anyway? Planned on watching the Buckeyes, but spending time with my son is invaluable. Went out to eat wth my wife and daughter, this evening. No major plans but to grade some essays and probably pull out the grill sometime this weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend too!

I plan on spending Monday 'laboring' in my shop. There are times when I am so far behind I cannot see the light of day....other times I have little to do that I want to scream.

I'll probably spend a good part of my labor day looking for my hammer! I have several projects that I need my hammer for and I can't find the silly thing.

Heading out to the Evergreen State Fair (http://evergreenfair.org/) tomorrow with my wife and daughter, where I plan to watch the lumberjack competition and the chainsaw carvers, eat an elephant ear, look at some livestock, and otherwise generally enjoy myself.

Spent the afternoon @ the car dealership playing the old "back and forth with the sales manager" game.
Ended up leasing a Rav 4 with so many options I have no clue how 3/4 of them work.
Heck I almost got into a wreck trying to find out how to adjust the rear view mirror! :D

I knew I was in trouble when the car started beeping at me as I was driving down the freeway.

Hi Rich, Diann and I rode down to Watkins Glen NY for the 42nd Finger Lakes BMW rally.

We had a great time, saw many old friends, weather was wonderful.

Of course being the wine region we took 3 bottles home.............Rod.
