How much would you guys pay for a northfield 8" jointer in good shape. Don't know what year or motor yet. Waiting on a call back.
Thanks!

Search old auctions. I've seen them go for less than $1000 and up to $2500 depending on.

There was a mint 12" HD on Craigslist locally a few months ago for $5k.

The 8" will be their medium duty model. If tables and motor are good I'd pay more than most any other 8" ( Oliver 144 maybe ) as Northfield has a following. Motor will be three phase and build will be better than most anything else. $1000-2500 depending on condition is a good estimate by Martin. Probably has a 2-3 hp motor so a vfd might be needed if you don't run a RPC. The HD models will go for more. Dave

i have had a 12" for6 or 7 years - i paid $2400 - plus shipping form so cal to the north and then the phase converter - having done all that it is a great machine. if you can get the serial number call the northfield company and they can give the history of the machine - and any parts or manuals to make it all good

Dave knows his stuff. +1

I'm restoring a 12L right now - basically the same machine just wider beds.

Matt, are the tables bolted to the wedges similar to their HD? Dave
