My last purchase was a 5 1/2 corrugated bottom hand plane, but I was wondering what others purchased last.

Fastcap Bestfence and 10" Bosch axial glide.

The things is a tank. Its kinda really annoying!

On the other hand being able to manage 18' lengths of cellular pvc and yet perfect clean cuts is kinda awesome.

Four inch block plane. I left my six inch behind when I went away for work. Can't work without a block plane. Cheers

Well, there's an antique shop near me in Elizabethton,TN that sells ONLY antique tools, ok it sells other things but mainly tools. Anyway, I had some extra money so I went and bought a Stanley No.733 hand drill, a big ol' Crusader saw from Belknap maybe, and a Millers Falls No.5 hand drill. He's got everything! A Stanley No.45! A Stanley No.113 circular plane! Router Planes! Pit Saws! Hand drill presses! If you can name it, he's got it! If I wasn't straight, I'd marry that guy, but I am! Not that there's anything wrong with that :D.

"Last" has some interesting connotations. I suspect many of the forum members are retired, old geezers.

Assuming a bunch of drawer slides for my MS bench doesn't really count..

I think my last purchase was a Steel City 8" slow speed grinder.

And I think my next purchase is a track saw..

... I was wondering what others purchased last.

Why, do you want to borrow it?

I last bought a Powermatic 3520B lathe. Unless you count a small hollowing tool from the other John Jordan. You can borrow the hollowing tool but the lathe is too big to fit in a Flat Rate box.

I bought a Bosch jig saw yesterday. I am making stencils to paint a sign on a barn (12"-33" letters) and couldn't stand to cut them all out with a router. Working great!

There sure seem to be a lot of farmers that read these forums!

I mostly prefer corded tools but on the farm, I'd have a hard time without a cordless sawzall, side angle grinder, drill, impact driver, and circular saw. All of my cordless tools use the same 18v Dewalt batteries to make life simpler.

We have no cattle but keep horses, llamas and alpacas, mini donkeys, peacocks, guineas, turkey, and honeybees.

I'm headed back out in the heat in a moment to repair a livestock waterer. Then to adjust a couple of gates. Then to build a better roost for the turkey. There is no end...

Well, my answer depends upon whether or not you are going to tell my wife . . . . Oh heck, she probably already found them: a set of hollows and rounds from Old Street . . . Along with a pair of snipe bill planes and side rounds . . .

In my last Amazon order I had several small add-on type things: a pair of brass stair gauges, a set of self-centering bits, a solid steel scratch awl, some bench cookies and cones, and a plumb bob.

My last bigger purchases were a HTC PM-4000 miter saw stand (I love it!) and a Hitachi pin nailer that I got during the Prime Day sale in July.

Stew,

I got it all set up on it's turntable accessory. So far I have sharpened several chisels, and 3 plane irons. I have to say, I am overwhelmingly pleased. It has actually exceeded my expectations. I assumed that I would need to do a quick final honing on my Hard Black Dan's before it was as sharp as I like my blades to be. I was wrong! I grind the edge, use the stone grader to make it finer, give it a quick few more seconds, then remove the burr, and run it across the stropping wheel. When that's done I can shave with it. Done! I have NEVER been able to sharpen so fast, and so effortlessly. Why the heck didn't I get one of these sooner???

Kevin, I just ordered the 500 myself. What are your initial thoughts on it?Stew,Had to calibrate the window, refer to YouTube Paul Marcel videos, I think search Half Inch Shy on there. He has great videos on set up and use. Everything else was spot on accurate. I can't get over how precise and quick it is to make MT joints. It was a lot of money, but once you get it in your hands and use it the pain goes away. Should have bought one years ago and is really the only Festool Tool I wanted. It really is a game changer in the way you work. You will love it. Enjoy!Kevin

Thank you Kevin, I will check out his videos. According to UPS it should be here tomorrow and I'm anxious to give it a try.

last "actual wood working tool" that will directly work on wood was a Festool Carvex Jig Saw.
I just got a 5HP Rolair, air compressor specifically for spraying finishes, so I guess that could count.
It's nice that it can do double duty for working on cars
