Does anyone know the length from the bottom of the post, to the top of hardened steel rod on a Comfort Rest with a 3 3/4" post. I have a Jet 1642 and the post on the tool rest is 2 1/2" long. My concern with the longer post on the comfort rest is that the rest will sit too high when lowered all the way in the banjo. However, if the overall length of the comfort rest (bottom of post to top of rest) is no greater than the Jet tool rest, then all is good. Thanks.

You might give them a call. They will customize any rest for you. I have a vicmarc with 30mm post and they make them to order.

Good luck

Does this chart help you? Tool Rest Dimensions Chart (https://cdn6.bigcommerce.com/s-jnwuwe/product_images/uploaded_images/tws-tool-rest-dimensions-1-.jpg?t=1471025537)

He also has this one: Tool Rest Selection Matrix (https://cdn6.bigcommerce.com/s-jnwuwe/product_images/uploaded_images/tws-robust-tool-rest-matrix.jpg?t=1471025597)

When I ordered my Robust tool rests I had to specify the size, long, short, or standard. The long will fit my PM3520b but is too long for my Jet 1642. I believe that lathe needs the standard. They are the same price so you could order the long and cut them off to fit (if that is easy for you) or order the medium (or call Robust).

I bought the 4", 6", 9" low profile, and the 15". These are my new favorite tool rests.
