View Full Version : Best tip I have seen in ages.

This tip isn't mine, I saw it recently, perhaps in a Woodsmith e-mail.

Very simple. An easy way to hand electric cords, compressor hoses, etc.. Get a dog collar, the kind with the nylon locking catch, not a buckle. Simply snap it around your cord/hose, and hang it on a nail using the metal 'D' ring. Much easier to use than the Velcro straps I have been using.

I went to the local 99 cent store today, and they happened to have a fresh supply of XL dog collars for larger dogs, with a 1 1/2" wide strap, and long enough to fit a Rottweiler. I bought 8 of them and might go back for more. It looks like the ones I got could handle a coiled 50' garden hose.

PS: Be sure to get one with a metal 'D' ring. I have seen some with plastic.

They work good for holding DC hoses too.

I like it Bruce.

Going back for more, since they are such a good deal at my store.
