First I have no connection to MIB. I was turned on to Mechanic in a Bottle by local mower repair shop. It's basically a cleaner and conditions rubber parts. I have a 1986 Troy-Bilt tiller that I use a couple times per year. The inlet needle leaks, but if I put some MIB in the gas, leaks stops within five minutes. I have pulled mowers from dumpsters (Gold Medal in dumpster diving for over 30 years) that barley would run. Put in some MIB, crank them up, clamp safety handle down, and listen as they smooth out, while backing off on choke. I don't know what's in this stuff, but it works. I buy mine at HD. I've tried other products, especially Seafoam, which is a mixture of naptha, alcohol, and diesel fuel, but none work as good as MIB.

Hi Bruce
I have used MIB before too, and had good results getting a couple engines going where the carb was gunked up from old fuel/oil mix.

I've never heard of MIB - from the subject line I thought you were talking about whiskey!
