Hi,

I just need a bandsaw to complete my shop and found this one on CL. It looks like it's in good condition and I'm waiting to hear back from the saw owner's son.

I've never purchased a bandsaw so I don't know what components to check. An initial look of the model on google reveals that it's a pretty good bandsaw from the 1960's and some crucial components (such as the 3/4 HP motor) can be replaced for heavier resawing.

The asking price is $125 which sounds reasonable.

Best,
Minh

PS - I've got to bring this thing down a flight of stairs. Can the base be disassembled?

Update the saw was sold before I got a go at it :(.

I think I'm just going to buy plans for building a bandsaw from Matthias Wandel :).

At that price just buy it. It will likely need bearings, tires, and a belt, less than $100 all in. Super easy to disassemble and move, no problem for one person to get it down a flight of stairs.

First remove table and trunions. Then remove motor. Next with a helper separate saw from base. Using either helper or hand truck load parts. Do same at home, and then reassemble when safely in basement.
