Morning guys.

Well I'm running my machine now and more now and I've started to get a bad chest and cough from it..

My Redsail x700 has a fan assisted 6" exhaust flex pipe (Blue plastic) that runs out the side of the bed and then out of my workshop window. But I've got no filter on the end so I'm worried that I might be pushing fumes out that aren't good for me OR my neighbors!

I've found some carbon filters on the internet and I'm just looking for a bit of advise as to whether they are good enough or what the best thing would be to add to the end of my tubing.

These are the filters I have found... Would they be ok to use do you think?

I'm trying to get rid of the smell and fumes as much as I can!!!

Thanks again
Callum

They don't get rid of the laser smells. Not nearly enough carbon on them. They do contain quite a lot of activated carbon, but the layer is really thin, like 5cm (~2") when it should be around 8" (atleast that's what we have). I bought one of those kind hoping it would do the trick and found they did nothing to the smell. Save your money and buy something better.

Construct a box with exhaust holes on top and bottom of it, fill it with activated charcoal and add it to your assembly.. Or get your hands on a BOFA-filter system or similar.. The biggest problem will be the prefiltering, since the activated charcoal will clog up quite fast if you don't get rid of the smoke particles (or as much of the as possible) beforehand.

We use TBH extractor (http://www.tbh.eu/en/products.html) which I think is similar to BOFA. We have modified it to use the original carbon filter in combination with some filters used by the automotive indurstry. We exhaust outside so we won't have to worry that much about the fumes, just the smell on the most smelly materials (plastics, leather & natural felt).
