I feel stupid even having to ask this, but here goes... The backstory is that I inherited a bunch of tools from my grandfather a few years ago. Over time my basement has been organized into a workshop, but I still have a small pile of odds and ends that I cannot identify.

My grandfather had two of these Craftsman Rip Fences (More info HERE (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/S3299-RF/0009/124.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=S3299-RF&sid=SPDxGPROD&gclid=CjwKEAjw_LG8BRDb1JTxm8uP_UwSJADu_8pWhvh-98mvfMSzwF10UTBAbCZ2ZbLAgsGyVhQ_wiCkGhoC5Qrw_wcB)f rom Sear's website):

The Sears website clearly says they are for use with band saws. I inherited a 14 in. Craftsman Bandsaw (http://www.sears.com/craftsman-14-inch-band-saw/p-00932607000P?sid=IDx01192011x000001&gclid=CjwKEAjw_LG8BRDb1JTxm8uP_UwSJADu_8pWBdWmFhhF x3r3OVvEt1DtLPT2qImhtoONPIEStfcquRoCeP3w_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds), but for the life of me, I can't see how these rip fences work on this bandsaw. I am beginning to wonder if they went with an older bandsaw that he replaced with the one that I inherited.

Can anyone confirm that this rip fence is for use with a different bandsaw than the one that I own?

Thanks!

I can't tell from the picture, but the fences you have may fit over rails that are attached to the saw.
I'd suggest going to the Sears website and looking at the parts diagram for the bandsaw you have to see if they show a fence/rail system.

I have a tiny (12") tabletop Delta bandsaw that uses a fence like that. It clamps directly to both sides of the table without the use of rails.
