The bark comes off this wood in one piece now that it's all dried out on the ground. I chose this one - for whatever reason - for my first attempt at a NE bowl. Quite a puckering experience, I might add!

This bowl was still a little green/wet. I soaked it in DNA and was gonna let it dry, but then thought I'd better go ahead and try to finish it before it dried and warped too bad. I soaked it with about three thousand coats (okay, I exaggerate a bit) coats of TO/BLO.

It's sanded thru 220 and is thicker on the bottom than the sides. It's a nice piece of wood with lots of grain and color. It has a big dark green spot in it that probably doesn't show up well in the picture.

It's 10" wide at the widest at 9.5" on the other end - 4" at the peak. Walls and bottom ~1/2".

I'm callin' this one Noah's Ark...:-)

I like the look of your bowl. Nice job. I really like to work Hackberry. You can get some unusual looks with it.
