Delta Miter Saw Parts

I've got a Delta compound miter saw... had it for years, and while it's no Kapex, it does what I need it to do.

Recently, while cleaning it off after use, the dust shroud (the little plastic scoop that directs the sawdust up into the collector) fell off.

Seems like the plastic had gotten brittle over the years, so when it hit the floor, it broke into 3 pieces.

It's an easy part to replace, but as you guessed, neither Delta nor the other usual suspects (eReplacements, etc.) have one available.

The dust collection before was barely adequate; now it's not even that good.

Any ideas what a guy could do?

I had the same sort ofthing happen - the scoop got brittle and started to fall apart. I covered it with aluminum tape and its been working that way for years.

I have a 12 inch compound miter saw that is porter cable, I had the same problem you described. My fix was a piece of aluminum fascia cut with tin snips and bent to shape, I taped it to what remained of the broken part with tech tape. It does'nt look as sexy as new but works better.
