Thought I'd pass this along to those who may not be able to afford a bigger lathe than the HF 10" mini. It ain't much, but recently I bought an old Sears. Haven't gotten it up and going yet but I hot to looking at the tool support and rest pieces and figured out they will fit the mini and that alone can get you about an inch an a half swing. It even tightens better, because, as you mini guys have probably already noticed, the tool support ( or saddle ) is very dificult to keep tight.
Not much but I thought worth noting. There should be plenty of old Sears lathes laying around.
