Does anyone sell fairly large nuts for the threaded tubing used in lamps ?

I find the small nuts typically sold in the "lamp parts" sections of hardware stores inconveniently small -both too thin and too narrow. This web page https://sizes.com/materials/lampFit.htm indicates that the nuts that fit the threaded tubing used in lamps aren't standard SAE or metric sizes.

I think what you are looking for has a 1/4" pipe thread. The small size is 1/8" pipe thread.

Thank you. https://www.kirkslane.com/index.php?pcsid=i3cbr719i8pnrspu8tp5cr9q55&p=catalog&mode=search&parent=0&mid=0&search_in=all&search_str=nut&pg=1 beats the selection in local hardware stores.

I find it irritating that lamps use tubing with an "IP" thread standard. Is there a good reason for that? Or is it just tradition ?
