Built on the chassis of a Citroen CV2, the body is cold molded of 1.5mm mahogany veneer and Gaboon marine ply. There's a picture of the mold made up of transversely mounted frames and longitudinally run stringers.

The body was glassed and then varnsihed with poly.

The car weighs 900lbs. It is 13' 7" long, 5' 4" wide and 4' 4" high. It gets 55-70 MPG and has a top speed of 100MPH

It looks like a boat with wheels :DWell, remember that he started with a Citroen 2CV, which looks vaguely like a cross between a VW Beetle and a PortAPotty.

Yeah that sure does look unstable with only one rear wheel :) Don't think I would want to do 100 in it!

I would have to say that if this car is doing 100...your likely going down hill and have other things to worry about.... :D

Yeah, I've seen that photo before. Pretty, isn't it?

As a wooden car, it isn't production-ready, but it does make me wonder why a steel-and-plastic version can't be built. 70 mpg (and 100 mph) looks real interesting with gas headed for $4/gal.

As to doing 100 mph in a light-weight vehicle, it can be done with lots of stability. Check out nearly any motorcycle on the road.
