I was considering ordering the latest Woodpeckers One Time Tool: the Paoline pocket ruler. I see that these have been made before. You can get these either in aluminum or stainless steel. Anyone own one? SS or aluminum and why?

Personally, I would want the aluminum, the red anodize is easier to read IMO. If you're hard on tools then the SS would be more durable.

My understanding is the aluminum versions are around 1/8" thick - some find this too thick an edge when measuring and marking. That's primarily why I went with the stainless.

I have the aluminum and don't like it so I ordered the stainless version and like it much better than the aluminum. Much thinner, just as easy to read in my opinion as the aluminum, better feel, etc. I have a lot of Woodpecker tools and for most of them the aluminum is outstanding.
