After so many years of borrowing my best friend's truck and loading my wife's Explorer with lumber, I finally decided to buy a truck. This is going to put a serious dent in my tool purchases for a while, I had to beg and plead inorder for my wife agree to the truck. Just in time for me to haul my buddies bed (which I've been working on for ever) to his house.

Jim,
It's red...my favorite color. It's a pickup...my favorite wheels. I'm really jealous...but LOML just looked over my shoulder and said...Isn't that a pretty truck! Maybe you started something for me?

Very nice truck Jim. I too am a "Ford Truck Man", and have owned 10 so far, counting my current Ranger Edge. I really like the STX trim package................great choice! Good Luck with the new Lumber Hauler..........I am sure you have made a great choice among trucks! :D

I never thought I would be a pickup truck kind of guy...until I bought my Tundra a few years ago. No question...I'll never be without one again. Further, today's trucks are a different animal than they used to be and have virtually all the "creature comforts" you would normally have in a very nice automobile with the addition of a truck bed to haul things when you need to. Suffice to say, mine is almost as comfortable as my 300M was prior to buying the truck.

Congratulations on your new hauler! (love the color, too...)

Jim it's a beaut for sure! I'm a Ford truck guy myself - I always have one but it's always been a beater work truck I have in addition to whatever my daily driver is. The one I have now is probably the best deal I've ever made - it's a 86 F150 4wd that I bought real cheap & have owned for probably 6 years now - don't owe me a dime.

Lately though I've been hankerin for a new truck that I could just use as my daily driver - I've been eyeing up the 4door F150 but I just can't quiet swing the $$$.

Anyway - cool ride

Ford just started rolling the re-designed 2004 F-150s off the line this past week as part of their anniversary celebration...and there is no such thing as a 2-door version anymore!

Now we know why Ken is retired, he owns the local Chevy truck lot. Somehow I knew you'd have a stake somewhere in the bunch. Daughter's is a dually she must do a lot of garage sailing.

Now, Jim, if you had posted that as an animated GIF, you could have had a "drive-by gloat."

Congrats on the new wheels.

It's a beaut.
I would have liked to be the fly on the wall when you convinced your wife about the practicalities of your pick-up.

But Honey, this pick-up will be perfect for hauling manure for your garden. Not just that, we can now renovate the bathroom that has turned rotten and mildewy. We can just load up the pick-up and take all that fowl smelling tile, drywall, and wood studs with nails sticking out of them to the local dump site.

C'mon lets be honest. I bet you will wash all your 2x4's clean before you put them into that truck.

Give me one with a longer bed. Throw a cap on it. A tow hitch and lets go make some money.

Off topic I happened to drive by a pick-up truck with a homemade cap. He laminated his ply himself. Bent the ply to simulate the actual Chevy cap. No side windows, but cut the chevy emblem out for the back window and covered the hole with plexi . Finished it off with a clear coat. The pickup was black. Not a perfect color match, but none the less a very interesting idea.

That's a beautiful truck, Jim. I particularly like the way they wrote "sticks" on the side of it for you!
