Hi guys,

I'm planning on building a dining table is white oak and am looking for light finishing options. It will be similar to a bjorg morgensen c18 shaker table.

I'd like to keep things as light as possible. A number of Danish makers (moller, Carl Hansen, etc) reference using a "white oil" finish although I can't seem to find a consumer product. This seems to be distinct finish as they also offer a lacquer and a regular oil finish.

Does anyone have any insight into what is available or what this might be?

Id llike to use an oil finish vs a waterborne poly if I can.

Thanks
Andrew

Any oil finish will yellow to some extent.

Shellac (platina) is non-yellowing as are some lacquers. Some WB finishes are white too. For any of these, I'd personally spray if you can...

Yes, that's my understanding as well. It's listed along side a lacquer option and a regular oil finish so I'm assuming it's different then both of those. It's a very light finish on ash or white oak.

Just looking for options as it's generally the color im going for.
