I ran across this interesting post (Post #7 by Forrest Addy) on the Practical Machinist Forum about the optimum grinder speed for sharpening HSS and thought others might enjoy the read too. The woodworking community is specifically addressed.

I see the post is 6 years old, but for those using AO Wheels lots of good info. CBNs have changed sharpening a lot. I tried a Delta variable speed for a few years, but had it on high speed most of the time. Bought a Jet 1 hp 3400. Like it much better to get 2 D-Way CBNs up to speed.
