A number of years ago I had some remarkable pieces of BLM burl and rough turned one particular piece that I just never liked the shape/style....so it sat for probably 9 years. Finally, I decided to put it on the lathe and ended up with something different for me. It measures 13" x 10" x 5/32" (as thick as I wanted to pierce) and is trimmed with a bubinga and curly maple inlay. I finished it with poly, buffed and waxed.

That is quite beautiful, Mike! Shows creativity, different skill sets [segmenting, inlay, piercing] and has quite a presence. I would recommend not waiting for 9 years on all your pieces, but this one has a good bit of WOW factor! Nice work indeed!
