I've got it, it's been road tested, and it is a keeper. Mark who made my dovetail marking gauge, made me a plow plane iron for my record 043. The 3/16" iron is too narrow and the 1/4" iron is too sloppy for the 1/4" birch plywood I use a ton of. Mark made me an iron that is 5 thousandths of an inch bigger than the stated dimension on the birch plywood. I don't know if it is permitted but I did a blog post on it on my blogger. It was the "my name is grammpy" blog at "accidentalwoodworker@blogspotcom. It's about half down.
I know finding these irons is about as easy as finding hen's teeth and Mark said I could post his email if anyone is interested in having one made.
