I need hinges for 1/2" x 6" x 20" door that will be flush with the wall - this is for a small existing alcove.
I can't use Euro hinges as I have only 2 1/2" depth in the alcove. I would love a hinge that is hidden so the knuckles don't show, and that will bring the door away from the wall as it opens so the reveal doesn't have to be so wide.

Does this hinge exist? Help!

can you bevel the strike side 3 or 5 degrees to get the clearance you need? Same as an entry door. a knife hinge may be a good option as it is much less obvious than the knuckles showing.
the Euro inset hinges mount too deeply for this?

is there room going to the side or can you make a hole to accommodate this?

Mark, A SOSS hinge might work. They are not real cheap, but they are easy to use, work well and out of sight. Not sure if 1/2" is enough meat to bore into. You may need to add a bit of material in the hinge locations on the door.

Bill, Adam - thanks. I think I'll look into the SOSS hinge idea. I can add material to the inside of the door.
