Hi Folks,

Just wondering if there were any members of this forum who live in the Grass Valley, Nevada City, Auburn area of California! I know there are turner's groups in Sacramento and probably Yuba City, but with the price of gas these days, I was hoping to find someone a little closer. I'm a newbie and looking for someone who might have the time to help me "learn the ropes."

Thanks,:D
Linda

Linda, in addition to folks you may find here at SMC, access the AAW website at http://www.woodturner.org and contact your local chapter, join it, attend the meetings and so forth. You will likely be able to find many mentors--turners love to help other turners!

Linda, I totally second what Jim said.

I did that (coz he told me too) and found a turners group like 3 minutes from my house. We meet once a month and it is so cool.

Happy turning..........
