So I hopped on craigslist for a quick peek this afternoon to check it out, and saw a DJ-20 posted. I drove like a maniac to get there. Got 'er done.

I paid the man his very fair asking price of $75 and was on my way. I was also lucky enough to pickup a Performax 16-32, and a jet air cleaner for a few more $20 bills. He was a good dude, getting ready to move. He knew this stuff was worth more, but doesn't use it anymore and needed it out of his way.

I'm off to a good start this summer for sure. Anyway, here's to huntin' those deals.

Congratulations! You'll enjoy using the jointer and the drum sander. Getting those two changed my woodworking life. Made it easier and more accurate.

That word, (the B word), is highly insensitive to the bulimic community, and the writers of the movie Spaceballs. I hope that you see the light on this subject and will restrain from using such hate speech in the future.

j.k.

Excellent score. The DJ-20 is what the often well reviewed Grizzly G0490 is modeled after. You will be very happy and at that price, should be arrested ;-)

Got her setup and running today. Switched the 1 1/2hp motor over to 110 to run in my shop. Adjusted the outfeed table slightly, and put her to work. No problems. I'm curious about this, the jointer has a label on the back that says model number and "Made in Taiwan". The big metal base has a logo and label with model number and says "Proudly made in USA". The motor is Delta and says "Made in USA".

From this, could I conclude that the base/motor aren't original to the jointer part of it? Or what else might be going on? Any ideas? If it's not original I might be forced to return it and get my money back.....

You're kidding, right? What has this world become that a word like BARF would become a hate word? Unbelievable!

Oh, and by the way..........Beetlejuice is the B word. Just ask Michael Keaton.

I am kidding. It's just as dumb as banning the previous sentiment of jealousy. I always thought it was dumb, but it was part of this place. Barf is pretty good I think, but somebody will take offense to it, whine, and it too will be frowned upon.

Btw, nice find(s) Nick.

Tables and castings were made first in Brazil, next in Taiwan, and finally in China. Base was made in US. The Brazil tables were generally the best, followed by Taiwan. Dave

I'll check mine this weekend and see what the badge on the casting says. As others have said: GREAT DEAL!

I had one; loved it! The motor mounts were installed backwards in some of the older "Invicta" models, so double-check. Had to flip it around on mine to get the pulleys to line up.

I'm using the heck out of this bad boy right now. One day soon I'll open it up and check the belt and maybe replace it... it's not quite as smooth running as I would expect it could be. Has a bit of a jerk at startup.

Ronald Blue

Someone who has one can weigh in but you probably should check it now. To me a "jerk" at start up implies something loose.

Wow 75 bucks is downright criminal. Felonious even. I paid 500 bucks for mine and thought that was a good deal! Mine is a Brazil/USA machine, so just a bit older than yours. Looks identical though, so probably pretty close in age. I love it, great machine. The V belt on mine has some "memory" as a result of sitting idle under tension for a few years before I brought it home. As a result it has a bit of slap when it starts up, and doesn't run as smooth as it should. Keep meaning to order a link belt for it, but I have a real bad case of CRS. I just installed a shelix on mine today, and can't wait to fire it back up and get into this 10/4 cherry. At the price you paid, you could invest the 400 bucks in a shelix head and STILL be way ahead!

Also....

HOW BOUT THOSE PENS!! Woooo hoooooo!

$75! What's the old song, some guys have all the luck. Can't blame you for not passing on it.
