Spalted Curly Maple

Here's a Peacock/Cothren tag-team effort. Dennis had this chunk of wood - I believe he rescued it from somebody's burn pile :eek:. Hope the pictures show the beauty of this wood.

One of the rewards of turning is to take a piece of wood destined for a fire, and turn it into something like this. Another reward is to find the hidden beauty hidding inside a supposingly plain old log like you did. Good Job...

Thanks all. Dennis not only rescued the wood, but he and I both worked on roughing the bowl, we both worked on the finish turning, we both worked on the sanding, and we both worked on buffing. So it was truly a combined effort.
