Love the sander. It is very sturdy and performs perfectly. I built it from plans from Plans Now. Ended up putting a 1 1/2hp motor with a 4 1/2 pulley on the drive roller shaft and a 3 inch on the motor. Love the adjustable tables and the tracking system works perfectly. Highly recommend building this machine

Very cool! How much do you think it cost you and how long to build?

As a hobbyist, if I ever have an edge sander, it will probably be something like this.

I recall seeing that a good workaround is to simply tilt the table so you can access all of the paper.

I would guess $300. I spent Sat and Sun and finished up Monday evening. The plans were very good but now that I've built one, I could probably shave several hours off the total time.

Any dust collection on it? It's not obvious from the photos.

Way too simple--I was hoping to make it much more complicated.

Sorry John, I forgot to mention that I haven't hooked up the dust collection yet because I can't decide which way I'm going to go; hook up my main system running a 6 inch pipe with a 4 inch drop or just a small shop vac. Don't want to make the holes until I decide. Picture 2 shows where the dust port would go. Running CCW the dust will be drawn to that area.

Thanks Scott. That looks like a logical location for it.
