Pipe clamp identification

Does anyone recongnise these pipe clamps / know who made them?

They are supposedly made in USA, but I don't recongize the color and don't have a manufacturers mark.

There were and still are a batch of Pony look-alikes. I have some no-name green and no-name red ones that had been my dad's. Still work great although I don't know the maker.

Looks like Sears clamp heads from the early 1970's.

I agree with Ben. I have several sets of the identical clamps that I bought at Sears in the early 70's.

I have a four that look just like those you posted, same color and apparently the same size. Mine are Craftsman pipe clamps with the number 6674 embossed on them, so if yours do not have the Crafstman name on them they most likely are the look0alikes that Glenn noted and I picked these up in the early 70's as Ben alluded to.

For those who have these or similar, do yours have the other end that has a different mechanism for holding in place than the modern versions?

If so, does it work fine / hold secure or is the modern type with the multiple metal plates superior?

Mine work fine. It's a toothed cam that does the wedging.

I have a couple Craftsman.... with toothed cam (like a trigger release). Never use 'em unless I run out of the Jorgensen/Pony during glue up.

a couple of mine are the old cam style, I find i have to give them a good smack with a hammer to get them to bite sometimes. I really only use pipe clamps when i need to clamp over 6 feet as i have some 6 foot old school i beam clamps that i really love.
