Delta 37-071 6" Jointer deal

Hi, I was walking the local swap meet yesterday and picked up what I consider the deal of a lifetime. A guy had the jointer mentioned above still in the box and brand new. He let it go for $80! I had been wanting one to help true up boards so I jumped on it. He said he got it from a friend for a good deal also but didn't have time to use it. It does not seem like it's "hot" but I guess there is a way to check that out? Anyway please tell me what you guys think of this jointer if you use it. Thanks

For small projects, it may be the only jointer you will ever need. For long pieces, you would benefit from having a longer bed. Congratulations! You did get a great deal.

I haven't had the time to assemble it yet but I've read other reviews that the fence is hard to square up. Can you guys share your experiences with this machine? Man when I plugged it in and ran it, it purred. I'm pretty excited about the deal and even more excited about using it.
