I have the 28 volt DeWalt cordless track saw which is a discontinued platform. I have one good battery. Wondering if it is possible to convert the saw to corded or if I will have to buy the corded version when my battery gives out. I have contacted several rebuilders but none seem willing to rebuild my LiFePo4 battery.
it seems it is complicated and could catch fire. All the batteries for sale are very old since they stopped making the 28 volt many years ago. I don't know of an aftermarket manufacturer of this battery. It is 28 volts and 12 amps, I believe.
Does anyone have any experience with this conversion to corded? I have looked at this Forum, Google, and YouTube with no success.thank you. Wayne

Thank you. I will look in Amazon. I don't know anything about electricity. No transformer needed?

Again, thank you. You have been very helpful and I appreciate it. This should be just what I need.

Don't go cheap on your connector circut connections. Also be sure of the voltage required. Like Dewalt 20 volt max is really 18v. 12 volt is 10.8. You do not want to burn up the motor with too much voltage. Which may be OK for a short bit. Dan

Dewalt & Milwaukee 28v is 28.8v.

8 Lithium cells in series.

A possible issue I see is that batteries can put out quite a bit of current. I don't know how big a power supply it would take to match that.

Id sell it, cut your losses, and buy their corded one. It works perfect.

Thank you for all the advice. I am very ignorant about electricity and how it works. I found the 28 volt power supply unit on eBay that David directed me to but it is large and has a cooling fan. I was concerned about saw dust getting into it and how the connections to the saw worked. So, the was a corded DeWalt track saw listed as a NIB never picked up item on eBay. I bought it, which means I now have two track saws. This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last time I have upgraded and had duplicate whatevers. C'est la vie.
