This is my first time turning a burl. Things went pretty well until I was about halfway through the bore and it came apart inside. I had it between centers and I think I got lucky the whole peice didn't shatter. Spent about 4 hours with it last night adding a 2nd coat of tung finish. I hand sanded down to 2000 , blew out as much debris as I could see, then applied the finish and buffed with a tee shirt. Can anyone identify the wood?
