I'm trying to find a sharpening cone for my 3/4" mortise chisel and coming up empty. I have cones that do up to 1/2" but they are too small for the 3/4". They must be out there somewhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Could the mods please fix the typo in the title for future searches?

I would contact the manufacturer of the hollow chisel, bet they can help. Interesting that most of the typos seem to be in the title; my favorite is INSULTING THE ATTIC

I am not aware of anything nice to do this, but, you might be able to use something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/DMT-Diamond-Honing-Cone-Large/dp/B00AQ6748E
http://www.amazon.com/DMT-DCSFH-Diamond-Small-Handle/dp/B00004WFT1

Worst case, I would start with a sufficiently large dowel, taper the end (not clear on exactly how), and then use sand paper on the end.

The cones I got from Lee Valley seemed pretty large to me ..
Would they not sharpen 3/4"
Always wondered about using a lathe to sharpen morstse chisels with a cone . hmm.. What could go wrong ..

I thought that was going to be it but upon closer look, the large cone sharpener only fits the premium chisels with a different angle.
I may have to do this as Andrew suggested. I actually already have 2 of the files linked. The dowel idea might work too.
