I have a Porter Cable, 6 gal, pancake compressor. Problem is, it's got a slow leak of air coming from the output pressure adjustment valve. I took it apart and cleaned it out and it helped, but it's still leaking some. PC says theres no kit to fix the valve, so I have to replace the entire manifold for $45. Is there any way to fix the valve? There aren't too many parts in there, but I don't know what's what. A new compressor is $129, so a $45 fix seems a bit high since there are some years on it already.

... the output pressure adjustment valve...
I assume this is the same as pressure regulator. You can get a after-market, replacement regulator for ~$20-$25, but you may have to re-plumb the manifold a bit.

If still too rich, the cause is probably a pin hole in the regulator diaphragm. You might be able to open it up, find and seal the hole, and so get a few more miles...?

Plenty of regulators for sale on ebay from $4.93 and up.

HF sells a regulator, including gauge for around $5, before the 20% off coupon.
