Good Friday morning to all,

Will there be sawdust manufacturing in your shop this weekend?

Since I finished "The Crib" this week, I need to straighten up my shop. I need to get a prototype raised panel box done that I am giving a class on next Saturday. We are also having a family get together here on Saturday evening so I am certain SWMBO will be sticking a broom in my hands, and a mop, and a dust cloth, and a vacuum cleaner, and......... Also need to mow the weeds. Ah well, it all has to be done sometime.

Hope all of you have a great weekend, a fantastic Fathers Day and don't forget to fly the flag on Saturday.

Craft show at Yellow Springs PA, this could be a nice show but 4 out the last 5yrs it rained hard on at least one day. Last year after a rainy Saturday with $50 in sales I was awarded Best In Show along with a $400 check. Setup is today, of course it's raining.

Hope to get time to finish a cherry and an ash bowl sometime. I have to make a jamb chuck so I can finish the bottoms.

Maybe some shop organization too.

If it isn't too wet from all the rain, I'm gonna have to mow my little piece of paradise.

Putting the finishing touches on the Family Room Remodel. Just some paint touch up, window treatment, and grout the 2 tile areas.............one in front of the entry door, and another in front of the fireplace. I will also be finishing a small box for a relative that I will be seeing at a Family Reunion in Missouri next weekend. Will have pictures of the box sometime this weekend. Leopardwood and Cherry...........so far looks good. NOT supposed to rain, so maybe we will get the Pool open FINALLY. That would make SWMBO and the kids happy. :)

Finishing up "In-Law" visiting as they should be leaving Sunday morning. Then Sunday night...will be some shop time. Other than that....not much.......I am trying to come up with a way to cool my shop....not much....just get it down to around 80 degrees without it costing me a ton of money since I ain't got much to begin with.

I have NO idea. Need to powerwash the back deck. Take some stuff to the dump. Finish up the ultimate mitre saw station, lose a pound or two....Father's Day stuff...stay out of the rain...

Another episode in the continueing saga of "make kitchen cabinets while it rains outside". I need to deal with the electrical aspects of the "fabulous fake fireplace cabinet insert", too...but might get to that later today. The grass needs mowed, but that may not get done unless the weather clears on Sunday.

Thinking about getting a classified section of Houston neswpaper and see if anyone hase some tools for sale.

Our little local paper has only two newer Craftsmen tools for sale.

Hmmm does this mean I have more fellow woodworker in this neck of the woods or has everyone finally reached their ultimate goal of tools:confused: ??

Have a great weekend.

Major foul up on my part, for many years (and the last 5 for me) Yellow Springs has been on Fathers Day weekend so I ASSumed it would be the same this year, well guess what NOT. The bad part is I never looked at the dates on the info I've recieved I just ASSumed. The bottom line is the show is next week which means I have to miss Echo Lake, I'm bummed out!

Well, I have to do some nice fencing between the deck and the house. Mostly to help keep little ones from exploring and then falling down 8' worth of water fall (dry mostly) to the lower deck and pool.

THen I get to work some more on leveling ground to put up a steel building. WHen that's up, I can empty out the Barn and then start turning the Barn into my own SHOP!!! (oh well, motnhs away but I'm getting there). THen I get a father day BBQ!!

THen down to see my mom, take her to do her weekly shopping and then I get a fathers day dinner at the local great steakhouse!!

After all of this, I get to rest by going back to work.

Have fun ya' all.

The local builders' association is having the Parade of Homes this weekend. I'm obliged to attend so probably not much shop time this weekend.

Tomorrow evening some friends are having a pot-luck gathering at their house. We've arranged a babysitter and are going to make the most of our freedom. I'm making a proven crowd-pleaser, Crawfish Etouffe`.

I've been working on my picket fence all week. My helper will be very suprised at my progress. We should get most of it done tommorrow,... at least the framing. I can make pickets.

I've been gettin' everything together for my vacation/ woodturnin' class at Arrowmont. Picked up the motorcycle trailer today (Borrowed from a friend) rewired it, new license plate and took it in for wheel packing (grease).

I will combine my woodworking vacation (2 weeks) with a desire to ride my Harley through East Tennesse and the Smoky Mountains and my passion for digital photography.... especially log structures, Grist Mills, sheds, shacks & barns. I'll lose 3 Saturdays with my helper in the shop. This is my longest vacation since 1990.

Oh.... This morning I built my first wood duck box, my own design. I added a curved roof and overhang to give the box more longevity than other designs I've seen. Inside dimensions are 10" X 10" X 23". It's made to be mounted on a 4"X4" PT Post with preditor baffles. It hangs on a french Cleat, then secured with several screws.

I read every website on Wood Ducks I could find with Google.

Zack...You're going to love it! I spent most of my childhood summers working the relatives farms there. Parents are retired in Maryville. Many of the relatives sold out to Dollywood:mad: ... but there are still a ton of wonderful shots to be had on the back roads through the "hallahs".

Can't wait to see your pics.

Sawdust or chips or turning shavings aren't looking too likely this weekend due to a rough day yesterday. Drove 90 min to an exterior job (log home) and worked for two hours realizing I was coming down with a fever, bodyaches, sore throat, etc. Around lunchtime, however, we got rained out--forecast said rain would stay south of us but it was not to be. So I drove home--barely made it, I was feeling so crappy, plus driving in some downpours (50-100 ft visibilty) and rain the whole way didn't help. I'm feeling a little better today, but don't know if I'm up to shoptime. Grrr.

Still working LOML spice cabinet. Like Jim, my lawn needs mowing - AGAIN! I just got back from running around town for the wife. After cooling off [AC in my truck died yesterday], I plan to put more shellac on the cabinet.

Got my Father's Day present last night as the kids were over and wanted to see my expression. They got me a DeWalt 14.4V 1/2" chuck, XRP drill! I was shocked. I just mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. Both of the other drills are 9.6V and don't work too well making pocket holes for face frames.

Wonder what would happen if I mentioned I needed a Jet OSS? Hum.

Have a good weekend guys....

A winner! I bought one last summer when my old PC started to give me problems during the shop expansion. The Dewalt is a great drill and feels really good in my hand. It also holds a charge "forever" as compared to the older battery technology. I suspect only the Panasonic is better in that respect...

Congrats on the FD gift and, of course...happy Fathers' Day!
