I got some Birch at Dicks BBQ and thought I would try a natural edge bowl, well the bark flew off so its a non bark NE bowl now. http://thewoodworkers.us/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif This was green and since the bark came off I just gave it a good soak with some Watco and Im going to see what happens as it dries.
It measures 8 1/2" X 4 1/2"

Jim, you are turning out some fine looking work. I like your barkless Natural Edge bowl. You did a fine job on the form. I hope it treats you well as it dries.

Nice Jim! Believe it or not I have one similar to this (non-bark NE) drying right now. It's from Hackberry. Hope it turns out half this nice.

Thanks for the picture!

Sometimes, no bark looks better than bark on. This is an example of good lookin' without bark!

Jim that birch was cut only about a week before the BBQ and from what I have been told the bark will only stay on if it is cut in the winter.

The bowl looks great, nice job!

I have one without bark in walnut that is drying right now. Hope it turns out half that good where I don't end up turning off the long edges.
