I've been looking for an inexpensive floor drill press for my garage. Found a guy on CL selling 4 drill presses and got to see them today.
Two of them had sagging spindles/chucks. They seemed to be bottomed out and if you turn the handle it raises them up. It seems like exactly opposite of what I think of as normal spindle travel. They seemed nice and smooth, just that they go up instead of down. Does this mean something's wrong with them or are they just set up in a different configuration that can be reverted?
Thanks - Kevin
