I am looking for a high quality half-round/bullnose bit with a 1/2” shank, that will put a 9/16” bullnose/half round on 3/4” stock, and is bearing guided. The only 9/16" bits I’ve found do not have a bearing. Any one know a source for this?

Thanks,

Len

Probably need to use a table with an offset fence setup anyway since it's a full cut.

The only other option I can envision is some sort of beading bit and swap the bearing out for your purpose and work it like a pattern bit.

Quick search shows one with 1/2" bead

Whiteside can custom make anything you want, if you can't find a stock bit. Find their phone number online and call to talk to Todd.

When I googled 9/16" roundover bit, there were 2 at Amazon.com. Maybe more, I didn't look any farther. Unless this is not what you are really looking for:

Len, are you looking for 9/16 radius bullnose? So to put like a fingernail profile on 3/4 stock? If so, the infinity 54-525 is what you want. Note: Amazon sells it but the picture doesn't show the bearing, although the description mentions it. The infinity catalog shows the bearing.

If you want a 9/16 diameter...that's different, and will leave a ridge on top and bottom of 3/4 stock.

Thanks for the replies, but none of the suggestions are the target. There is some confusion in the names, some manufacturers call them round overs, but really the accurate term is bull nose. And yes, I'm searching for a 9/16 diameter, not radius, with a bearing. Trying to match an existing molding profile to repair a table. Thanks!

You may think your description conveys the information but draw a pic of the desired profile and post it. With an actual bullnose, how could you do a guide bearing? What would it ride upon? it would be routing the entire profile and leave nothing to use for the guide bearing. Something is off on the original stock and the desired router profile. You may think you know what you have asked BUT the responders are confused about the question.

Thanks Tom, I was about to post a picture, yes that's the profile I'm looking for.

The Amana bit highlighted (51570) has a radius of 17/64 and "M" (diameter) of 35/64, not quite 9/16 (36/64) but pretty close.
Hope you find what you're looking for.

If you can't find the exact bullnose bit, how about using a roundover bit from both faces to create the desired profile?
