The Sears router base plate is 6" rd - not sure what the Bosch is but I think that size or smaller.
If I was to try and mount the Bosch on the Sears table I'd have to drill and countersink new mounting holes to fit the Bosch layout.
Is it realistic to do this ?

Sure why not? If you dont want build or buy a new table. I dont see why you couldnt make the Bosch fit. And the nice thing about the Bosch 1617 is it has a built in lift mechanism.

Whether it's worth it is up to you, but before drilling take a look at the photo attached. The 1617 fixed base is 6" in diameter, and under the sub-base you'll find that it's tapped in the Bosch 4 screw pattern AND the same 3 hole pattern that Porter Cable uses on the 690. If the table will mount a PC 690 without drilling, it will mount your 1617 as well.

Earl, I'm confused.
Sears router plastic bases are 6" in dia and 4-5/8" between the 3 hole mounting.
Are you saying that under the plastic plate of the Bosch router is a 3 hole pattern? Looks like you have one - what's the distance between the 3 hole mounting screws?
