Tools for working wood sells sawsets that are just as good as antique stanleys. They have two sizes for different PPI's. I have been very pleased with mine.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately they are out of stock of their fine set, which is what I need. Will keep an eye out.

cheers, Paul

thanks for the recommendation,
we are out of stock on the narrow set but will have more in a month or so.
if you do get an old saw set try to get one with a narrow plunger for fine saws. 95% of the antiques out there are for reqular size construction handsaws - which of course was most of the application of saws back in the day.

Hi Joel,

Thanks very much. If you could point me to where I could find the information as to which models will handle the fine pitch saws, that would be greatly appreciated.

cheers, Paul

pual,
I don't know - some of the the antique dealers might be better to help you. 80% of the saw sets we sell (all new) are with the narrow plunger but I don't know if on the antiques there was a special designation, if they were readily made, or you just asked for a special plunger but the model is the same.
