Latest tool offering from Lee valley: Precision Rotary Tool. Some may find it useful. Interesting video shows all of its many woodworking applications.

Backpackers would find it useful for those on-the-trail projects.

I could see a market for those LED light pylons too.

If it had a chainsaw attachment I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

LOL. The first thing I did this morning was go to the Lee Valley site and see what new tool they were offering this April 1.

Same for me, always entertaining, and strangely useful?

Makes one wonder what would’ve happened if Lee Valley had done the Bridge City Tools Jointmaker Pro as their annual tool release on this day.

Raises the question of what additional benefit one could get from expanding such an approach for drilling holes by hand — I have a small German hand-drill which I keep thinking I need to adapt so that it can be clamped to a surface or board and then used to drill holes w/ precision, but it needs some improvement in the lowering mechanism.

This is awesome! Now I can continue even after the power goes out. Just need another one that runs the lights...

Crap, I ordered two. One for the wife, and one for me. Then, I realized you needed a second person to do carving. I sent her's back.

Nah. It may be hand-powered, but I think it can sharpen end mills.
