Ok, who is guessing what Lee Valley will list tomorrow to entice us? Is it another horizontal workbench or something more ingenious?

Not a clue what those guys might dream up. My favorite so far was the variable gang saw.

Lasers as hollowing tools. Not to show where you are, but to cut the wood away.

Calipers that measure to the millionth of an inch.

Dust-packer, to turn sawdust back into boards.

Floor-depressors for shops without enough head-room. Don't raise the roof. lower the floor.

3-strikes electrical shut off. When you 1) stick your knuckle into the belt sander, 2) launch a piece of wood with your table saw, and 3) throw a bowl with the lathe, all electricity in the shop shuts off for 18 hours, except for little emergency LED's wi let you exit safely.

"Double-entry" receipts that list what you actually paid for Lee Valley Loot and what you want to say it cost.

I would absolutely pay a premium for that.

Perhaps that's the April Fool's- to not do the April Fool's tool.

I want one! (Accuracy to 0.002 Smoots may not quite cut it though https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoot)

But seriously- that eggbeater drill would be a nice addition to the lineup, although a bit brace would be even better. N

Their April Fool tool was a bland tape that can be used as a story tape.....was really looking forward to a good one.

I thought the story tape was their joke several years ago. This year was the hand powered router/rotary tool.

They really do sell the story tape which is basically a blank measuring tape that has a write-on surface.. Must have been enough demand for it.
