I bought a few commercially made inlays for some boxes. They came with a thin black plastic backing which I removed. There is another clear plastic backing under it which looks kinda like scotch tape. It looks like it holds the inlay together so I think I should leave it alone. Do I just use poly glue on this or will the inlay stay together if I remove it?

Unless I have gotten out of date, you glue the surface without the film to the substrate. When the glue is dry the film is removed from what has become the top of the inlay. (Last commercial inlays I used came with brown paper instead of film, but the principle isn't likely to have changed.)

Well Duh.... How does that go? I don't need no stinkin' drirections! Thanks Steve. I was on my way to a monumental goof up.
