334825334826334827334828334829334830334831The first two pictures are bowls made for a local food pantry event, and the last ones are experiments for mounting on the lathe, the first three are walnut and the last two are maple.

Nicely done, Robert.

The bowl in the first picture (top left), looks like Red Cedar? Sure is pretty! How was that to turn?

Those natural edge bowl sure catch my eye. Beautifully centered and nice wood. I keep a jar full of scrap bark on hand and try to match the missing pieces. I use super glue to glue them and power sand them to match the bowl wall. I sometimes mix up brown dye in 5 minute epoxy and fill in the voids between the bark and bow. The epoxy is more flexible and a better choice as the bowl changes with the humidity.

Yes the top bowl is cedar, and was easy to turn, the next is FBE flame box elder, and the last is spalted birch.
